How to make a fomod

Requiring the installation of another mod manager simply to handle an install script seems an odd design choice when native FOMOD support could simply be added to Wrye (as it was added to Mod Organizer). The only other option for Wrye users is to: 1) install Nexus Mod Manager or Mod Organizer in addition to Wrye 2) install the mod in question through NMM or MO 3) repack the result into Wrye and install again. Unfortunately, written instructions aren't included in the archives so Wrye users have to interpret an xml file to find out what they should be installing (manual instructions are no longer always supported by authors). At time of posting the vast majority of complex mods or patch series use FOMOD to determine which assets are to be installed. FOMOD installers have proliferated enormously as the Skyrim modding community has evolved.
